Welcome Jillian!

Join us in welcoming Jillian (she/her) as the new Maker Space Coordinator!

“Hello!! My name is Jillian and I am so excited to be taking on the role of Maker Space Coordinator here at Artspace! I am a settler person and artist who has called Nogojiwanong home for almost 5 years now. As an artist, my work centres around the trees, waters, and non-human beings that I share this home with, and I am passionate about the role of art in deepening our connection and relationships to place, and to one another.

In this new role, I am excited about working and learning with community members, to build a more accessible Maker Space– one which can both support individual artists in their art practice, as well as facilitate greater connection, creativity, and collaboration within the greater Peterborough community.”

Over the next while, you can expect to find Jillian either Artspace or out in the community, chatting with folks about what they want and need in a new Maker Space- that is, if she isn’t in her garden, or walking along the river with her dog Harper!

If you do see her, feel free to introduce yourself! Whether it’s to share an idea, to ask her a question, or just to have a chat about what arts and community mean to you, she would love to hear from you.
